    Mom and Dad's Marker

    along with a copy of Don Burgett's "Seven Roads to Hell", the story of the 101st in Bastogne. Dad was there only until December 19th, 1944 when he was wounded and subsequently captured during the fall of the division medical unit. He spent the next three months in Nazi work details and being moved from one stalag to another. He was locked in a cattle boxcar for eight days with dozens of other GI's before being freed by Patton's armor push into Germany.

    101st Airborne Division Memorial

    Sitting across the entrance road from the visitor's center, the memorial bears numerous inscriptions to the division. The wreaths are placed each Veteran's Day commemorating various units and individuals of the 101st.
