October 28th, 2014 This is a 2D version of a 3D video capturing the lift-off and explosion of the Antares rocket carrying a Cygnus cargo logistics spacecraft intended for delivery to the International Space Station. The video was taken at the end of Arbuckle Neck Road in Chincoteague, Virginia at a distance of 1.6 miles. The video camera was a Sony HDR-TD20 3D sitting on a tripod unattended. The shock wave causes a violent movement of the camera before it settles back into its original position. Click on the image to start the video.
